UNITED CAMPUS WORKERS CWA LOCAL 3865
Dear Members and Affiliates,
Over the past year, our brothers and sisters in United Campus Workers (CWA Local 3865) have been fighting Governor Bill Haslam’s scheme to outsource 10,000 state jobs to a private company. You read that right —10,000 people are at risk for losing their livelihoods and being sold out to a private company. We are writing today to urge you to take action to protect our union brothers and sisters here in Tennessee.
Recently, the Governor’s team opened a public comment period about their plan to outsource. We know that outsourcing doesn’t work. It doesn’t save money, it reduces the quality of service, and, most importantly, its bad for working people. We need you to act now and submit a comment–if their plan goes through, state workers could be privatized as early as April. We can’t let that happen!
We need you to submit your response to the public comment period today– the deadline is December 20th. Ask your friends and coworkers to do the same. The Governor’s team needs to know that Tennesseans are paying attention and that Tennessee is Not for Sale!
Forward this email far and wide. Let’s make sure they hear from us!
